What do I do with my old pc?
Hi all!
I'm debating right now about what to do with my old (7-8 years old) desktop computer.
Right now, about computers at home I have:
- My slimbook One, from 2022. I love this machine.
- Steam Deck, from 2023.
- Old desktop computer from 2018, sitting in a closet for 3 years now.
- Synology nas, a DS918+ from 2016.
Lately I've been prefering smaller computers, that take less space, and my videogame playing habits have changed a bit. I don't want to play big graphical intensive games anyway so my hardware needs have been decreasing.
I mostly play on my steam deck or switch, so I don't have the needs of bigger hardware anyway.
But! Viewing the new Steam hardware, I'm a bit torn. Valve knows what I want and they look appealing but I won't get any of them with the hardware I own now.
I've been looking to sell some of my devices. From time to time I get the urges to remove things that don't spark joy or take up space, like my 3d printer (I had 3 of them in the past 6-7 years), and my big, bulky computer is starting to annoy me.
The issue this time is that I won't get a Switch 2, at least not for quite a long time (preferably at the end of its lifetime), and I'm a bit scared that I end up not having a way to play some game I want to play.
I'm probably going to sell my big tower pc, and now may be the best time to do that, since it will only go down in value as time goes on.
